Adam Kaminski – humanistic counsellor

Adam Kaminski

I work with people experiencing low mood, anxiety, stress, a sense of feeling stuck, as well as those going through significant life changes. I also support people in grief and those close to someone receiving palliative care. There is space in the work for experiences that are unclear, hard to name or overwhelming. At times the work focuses on everyday difficulties; at other times it touches on existential questions – there is room for that too.

I understand change not as striving towards an external ideal or becoming a “better version of yourself” at all costs. Instead, it is a gradual inner shift: less self-criticism and greater acceptance of one’s limitations, which can, paradoxically, open the possibility of moving beyond them. The aims and direction of the work are agreed together and revisited regularly.

I work within a humanistic, person-centred approach. At times, I may draw on elements of other approaches if I feel they can offer a helpful perspective. I do not specialise in trauma therapy or addiction therapy. If either of these becomes a central part of your experience, we will consider together whether my skills are the right fit. Where needed, I will suggest contact with an appropriate specialist.

Practical information

I am a psychologist and therapist. I offer individual online sessions in Polish and English, using secure platforms that ensure confidentiality.

Qualifications and supervision

I hold a Master’s degree in clinical psychology and have completed the first phase of training in process-oriented psychology. I am currently completing my counselling training (expected completion: May 2026). I work in line with the ethical guidelines of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), of which I am a member. I also work under regular supervision in the UK, which is a core part of ensuring the quality and safety of my practice.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of my work. Exceptions to confidentiality include:

  • situations involving a real risk to life or serious harm
  • safeguarding responsibilities relating to children and young people
  • other circumstances required by law

These limits to confidentiality are discussed during the initial consultation.

Practical arrangements

Sessions last 50 minutes. I ask that sessions are cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice; missed or late-cancelled sessions may be charged in full.
I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation, during which we can see whether this way of working feels right for you.
